Pamela Anderson has announced her retirement as an actress after falling in love with her new magic show. The former Baywatch star has been appearing alongside illusionist Hans Klok at his show in Las Vegas, and its convinced her she’s had enough of screen work. She says, “I'm definitely staying until December, but then who knows. I don't want to do any more TV or film though. Doing The Beauty of Magic is what I love - it's just so over the top." Pammie’s got some bad publicity coming her way though. Her ex-boyfriend Kid Rock has penned a song on his new album about her, noting that his new squeeze is half her age and “twice as hot”.
24 JULY 2007 Magic summer in store for Pamela Anderson and her boys
She's just extended her stint as a Las Vegas show girl until December, but Pamela Anderson's most important job is clearly being a mom to her two sons. The Baywatch beauty was on hand to make sure ten-year-old Brandon and eight-year-old Dylan - her children with former husband Tommy Lee - had remembered to pack all the essentials as she dropped them off at summer camp in Malibu this week. The blonde bombshell has been juggling her duties as mom with appearing as Dutch illusionist Hans Klok's assistant at Vegas' Planet Hollywood Casino since last month. But with just two shows a night Thursday through Saturday she's had plenty of time to spend with the boys - who both love her new magic role. "My kids want me to keep doing the coolest thing in the world," she wrote on her website last week. "(I) love this job so much." With a monthly salary of $1 million and a child-friendly schedule, the job has clearly contributed to the actress' joie de vivre - evident in her latest diary entry. "I love being 40… I've had such a great, blessed life and it's only just begun," she says.
06/22/07 Pamela Anderson To Open A Chain Of Strip Clubs?
Pamela Anderson is considering opening a chain of strip clubs. The star, whose great-grandfather was Finnish, is in Scandinavia to host an upcoming music festival near Helsinki and has come up with the idea of a chain of clubs called Lapland. She writes on her website: "I thought of a great way to celebrate my Finnish heritage at home. I'm going to look into opening a chain of strip clubs and I'll call them Lapland!"
06/21/07 Pamela Anderson Appeals To Finnish President To End Fur Farming In Finland
HELSINKI, Finland (AP) - Free the Finnish fur foxes, Pamela Anderson says. After arriving Thursday to host a music festival west of Helsinki, Anderson told Finnish President Tarja Halonen in a letter that her nation should emulate other countries that have banned fur farms. ''It's time for Finland to move into the 21st century and follow suit,'' said Anderson, whose great-grandfather was Finnish. The letter was distributed to the media by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Finland's fur auctioneers said the appeal was unrealistic. ''It's not surprising coming from her, a known anti-fur campaigner,'' said Paivi Mononen-Mikkila, a spokeswoman for the Finnish Fur Sales auction house. ''It's really not realistic as so many people earn their livelihood from the fur trade.'' Finland, one of Europe's top fur producers, has 1,400 farms that produce about two million fox furs annually. The industry employs 10,000 people. Halonen's office acknowledged receiving the letter but declined comment.
06/20/07 Pamela Anderson In Relationship With Magician?
Actress Pamela Anderson has hinted she is romantically involved with Las Vegas illusionist Hans Klok. The Baywatch star, whose divorce from second husband Kid Rock was finalized earlier this year, is currently performing as Dutchman Klok's assistant in his Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino show, The Beauty Of Magic. It seems Klok has worked his magic on the mother-of-two. Speaking on the Today show on Wednesday, "I am (in love with him). Hans is special. And he's Dutch. My mother's part-Dutch so she's very happy about this."
06/14/07 Pamela Anderson Lands Magical Birthday Deal
Pamela Anderson has been given an early 40th birthday gift - $3 million for her 12-minute contribution to Las Vegas illusionist Hans Klok's nightly show. The actress/model, who turns 40 next month, will net $3 million for her role as Klok's assistant in his Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino summer show, The Beauty of Magic. Vegas insider Michael Politz says, "This is an easy summer gig for Pam - 12 minutes per show, four shows weekly. She also gets a large suite and the use of a private jet for commuting to her Southern California home at her disposal as part of her magical deal." But Anderson almost missed out on the chance to play the magic man's sidekick - Carmen Electra was Klok's first choice but she had to pull out of the show after realizing she was too claustrophobic for some of the illusionist's stunts. Politz explains, "Carmen Electra had her sights on a show like this for years but found out she suffers from claustrophobia during rehearsals with Hans Klok." Meanwhile, Anderson has spurned offers to host her 40th birthday at a number of Las Vegas clubs and will instead dine with her vegan pals at People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). The bubbly blonde will celebrate her landmark birthday at Fort Lauderdale, Florida's vegan restaurant Sublime, which is owned by PETA member Nancy Alexander, the founder and president of the Animal Rights Foundation of Florida.

Anderson will reportedly be paid an estimated $1 million -a-month for the duration of the show's run, which began last week and appears nightly throughout the summer. The spectacular is already proving to be a magical success - most dates for June are already sold out.
